Superbook’s Pagbabago Advocacy (Heroes of Change) geared towards raising up godly and responsible citizens by imparting life-changing truths from the Bible to the Filipinos.
To further spread and promote Superbook’s TV comeback, celebrities are now actively supporting its cause to provide positive values through wholesome TV programming through its “Bida ng Pagbabago” advocacy.
Superbook’s Bida ng Pagbabago advocacy believes in empowering the children of today. As young as they are, they can already be of influence and become examples to their friends, families and community.
And what better way to encourage today’s young generation to be responsible and godly citizens than to use role models that they can look up to whenever they turn on their televisions – TV personalities who support and believe in Superbook’s advocacy.
To achieve this, Superbook brings us the “Batang Superbook Agents” namely: Kapuso stars actress and TV host Isabel Oli, actress Sheena Halili, model and actor Benjamin Alves, actress and mom Bettina Carlos and her daughter Gummy, together with Salamin band lead vocals Paolo Valenciano, singer-actress Isabella De Leon, and ventriloquist Ruther Urquia and his puppet sidekick Titoy.
Superbook Project Head Icko Gonzalez says that these agents are certified Batang Superbook, who grew up watching and learning from the classic Superbook during the 80’s and 90’s. “We are thankful that they accepted this role to be “kuyas” and “ates” of the now generation. They will serve as inspiration and encouragement to the children to become the best that they can be.”
On Being Batang Superbook Agent
During the recent SuperLaunch of Superbook at the Robinsons Galleria Activity Center, the celebrity ambassadors were introduced to the public as official Batang Superbook Agents.
According to Isabel Oli, who is a self-confessed Superbook Classic fan, she’s honored to be chosen as one of the agents.
“I feel so blessed and honored kasi talaga, me and my brothers and sisters, pinapanood talaga namin yung Superbook dati pa. I’m so happy na magiging part ako ng pagbabago sa buhay ng mga kabataan ngayon. I’m very positive that Superbook will have a huge impact sa mga youth,” Isabel shares.
She adds, “kasi bihira na lang ngayon yung mga shows, much more child-oriented shows, that talk about the Bible and I really pray na kung gaano nito na-touch ang buhay ko at ng family ko, ay ganun din sa iba. Sana maraming bata ang makapanood at that many lives will be touched sa show na ito.”
Meanwhile GMA’s Binoy Henyo’s lead star Sheena Halili is thrilled upon receiving the invite. “Nakakatuwa na napili ako kasi ibig sabihin nakikita ng mga tao na qualified ako. Iba pa rin talaga kapag may alam ka tungkol sa Bible. I believe in positive TV programming for the kids. Ngayon, mas kailangan ko panindigan ang faith ko at maging role model sa mga kabataan,” Sheena says.
“To actually be part of this whole project brings back a lot of childhood memories and I believe it would be nice for kids nowadays for [sic] kids to be exposed to this kind of animation where there are good lessons and I think it’s good for the youth. It really puts and instills good moral values into their subconscious,” says singer Paolo Valenciano, who is Mr. Pure Energy, Gary V’s eldest child.
Singer-actress and former child-star Isabella “Duday” De Leon agrees with her co-agents. “Super honored po ako na napili po ako na isa sa mga Superbook agents kasi sobrang fan po talaga ako ng Superbook. And gusto ko rin po ito ma-share sa mga kabataan ngayon.”
Superbook’s Positive Benefits
They may have different personalities and backgrounds, but these Superbook agents all confess about their personal relationship with God and they all agree about Superbook’s positive benefits and advantages to the now generation.
Actress, new mom and Superbook agent Bettina Carlos expresses her concern as well as her relief. “Nowadays, kids are so media-savvy and somehow it’s alarming for us parents. We tend to worry about what our kids watch and listen to. I am convinced that Superbook will create a positive change in the lives of many children who will watch it,” Bettina remarks. Bettina and her daughter Gummy is the first ever mom-daughter duo to become Superbook agents.
“It’s nice to have the Bible depicted for the kids. It suits their eyes and young minds pero factual pa din. I think it’s so important to shows that will influence the kids in a good way,” says Benjamin Alves, Piolo Pascual’s nephew.
In addition, ventriloquist Ruther Urquia attests, “It’s nice to see na nag-level up na ang Superbook for the younger generations. Masaya ako dahil finally may mapapanood na ang mga kabataan na pwede mong ipantay sa mga anime na nasa TV ngayon.”
Paolo Valenciano adds, “It’s quite cool being chosen as one of the agents because I, too, grew up watching Superbook. There’s a lot of garbage on TV out there, so at least Superbook can guide them with the stuff that they do in life.”
Superbook Project Head Icko also stressed, “Every Superbook episode has a corresponding take-away lesson. Therefore, if they follow what they learned from Superbook and apply it in their lives, young as they are, they can be Heroes of Change or Bida ng Pagbabago.”
Superbook Reimagined airs every Saturday at 7:30 a.m. on GMA, while Superbook Classic (Tagalized) airs every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. also on GMA.
